Distribution Center : Inventory Clerk

Title:  Inventory Clerk

We are seeking a talented individual to work in our Distribution Center located in Newcastle, Maine.   This position will be entering data from various source documents into our POS system for storage, processing and data management purposes.  Our ideal candidate must have strong communication skills and able to work independently.  Candidates must be highly organized and motivated.

Department/Area: It is expected of every Renys employee to be willing to step into any role/job at any time as needed, regardless of job description.

 Position summary:  Primarily responsible for taking direction from management to ensure the efficient flow of merchandise from warehouse to stores.

Key Areas of Responsibility: Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to the following areas:

  1. prepare, compile and sort documents for data entry
  2. check source documents for accuracy
  3. verify data and correct data where necessary
  4. obtain further information for incomplete documents
  5. update data and delete unnecessary files
  6. enter data from source documents into prescribed computer database, files and forms
  7. check completed work for accuracy
  8. store completed documents in designated locations
  9. respond to requests for information and access relevant files
  10. print information when required
  11. comply with data integrity and security policies

 Minimum Requirements:

Each employee must pass a pre-employment math test as well as physical that consists of lifting 50 lbs. five times to their waist and 40 lbs. five times over head, as well as normal checks done during a physical.  Candidate must also display excellent communication skills, the ability to multi-task, strong working knowledge of various computer programs (Excel, Word and general working knowledge of current POS system a plus).  Must be extremely detailed oriented, and the ability to shift priorities to meet daily/weekly department goals and deadlines.

Reporting relationship: This position reports to the Inventory Specialist

Success Factors: Candidate must be self-motivated, professional, have a positive attitude and be highly organized. Day to day responsibilities shift and individual must be able to assume responsibilities based on business needs.

Working Conditions: This position is paid an hourly wage, hours are 7 am – 4 pm Monday – Thursday, and 6:30 am – 3:30 pm on Friday.  It is generally 40 hours per week with occasional overtime, Monday through Friday and During November December some weekends.

Distribution Center: Distribution Center Worker

We are seeking talented individuals to work in our Distribution Center located in Newcastle, Maine.

Department/Area: It is expected of every Renys employee to be willing to step into any role/job at any time, as needed, regardless of job description.

Position summary: Primarily responsible for processing and maintaining a smooth, day-to-day, flow of merchandise, both hard-lines and soft-lines, from the Distribution Center to the retail stores.

Essential functions:

  1. Sorting merchandise, either by piece or by case, from either stacks or pallets, and place it in the appropriate store’s designated freight location.
  2. Pricing merchandise in accordance with distribution/split sheets or as otherwise directed.
  3. Assist in the loading and unloading of trucks and vans, wrapping of pallets, locating and storing of warehoused merchandise.
  4. Splitting of merchandise in accordance with company Purchase Order
  5. Identifying damages and shortages with associated merchandise.
  6. Locating merchandise within the Distribution Center using currant technological devices and procedures.

Other functions: Upon attaining appropriate qualifications, operate all electrical, hydraulic and mechanical equipments in a safe manner. Maintain a clean/safe working environment by picking up loose debris, scrap paper, expended shrink wrap, etc. and placing in designated containers. May be required to assist in cleaning, snow removal, mowing, weeding, painting and other manual labor projects.

Minimum requirements: Each employee must pass a pre-employment math test as well as physical that consists of lifting 50 lbs. five times to their waist and 40 lbs. five times over head, as well as normal checks done during a physical.  Must operate a variety of mechanical/hydraulic freight handling equipment. (Company will train.) Be willing to learn and understand operating procedures and equipment associated with current POS (point of sale) systems for picking and locating merchandise within the distribution center.

Reporting relationships: This position reports directly to the Distribution Center management team for all aspects of job assignment and procedural functions.

Working conditions: All work is done on your feet, on a concrete floor (no sitting positions), You are required to use ladders to retrieve or stack boxes that may weigh up to 50 lbs, use hand trucks to move freight weighing up to 300 lbs and use manual and electric pallet jacks and fork lifts to move pallets weighing up to 2000 lbs. The indoor environment is well lit and basically clean, partially air-conditioned. This position requires bending, twisting, stooping, walking and lifting from the floor to overhead.  This position is paid an hourly wage, hours are 7 am – 4 pm Monday – Thursday, and 6:30 am – 3:30 pm on Friday.  It is generally 40 hours per week with occasional overtime, Monday through Friday and During November December some weekends.

Renys Home Office - Newcastle: Accounts Payable Clerk

We are searching for hard-working, talented and reliable candidates for our Accounts Payable team in our Home Office and Distribution Center in Newcastle, Maine. We currently have both Full-Time and Part-Time positions available.

Position Summary: Primarily responsible for processing vendor invoices and balancing purchase orders in a timely fashion.

Essential Functions:

Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following areas:

  • Receives and matches invoices to purchase orders
  • Enters all invoices into accounting software
  • Reconciles monthly vendor statements and accounting system
  • Reconciling purchase orders and invoices in a timely manner
  • Handles invoice problems efficiently and professionally
  • Handles vendor communication with tact and professionalism
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Work independently, but also as part of the Payables team
  • Provide support, assisting with any special projects, as needed
