Renys brought the Maine adventure to Bridgton, in Cumberland County, in 1952. Our downtown department store is a staple when visiting this Lakes Region resort town. Did you forget something on the way to Pleasant Mountain for a ski vacation? Don’t worry – stop at Renys.

Bridgton was established in 1770 when a tavern was built, and throughout the 1800s, the town grew into an industrial center with textile mills, a shoe factory, foundry, and many more. Thanks to railroad and steamboat access to this lovely part of Maine, summer tourists have long enjoyed visiting the area.

Today, visit Bridgton year round – there’s always something to do! During warm weather, rent a cottage or set up at a campground and get ready to explore the Lakes Region of Maine! Enjoy hiking? Explore the Pleasant Mountain trails, managed by the Loon Echo Land Trust. Visiting in the fall? Don’t miss taking a drive to the Fryeburg Fair, the largest agricultural fair in Maine. This fun-filled event during the first week of October marks the end of Maine’s fair season. In the winter, Bridgton’s Pleasant Mountain is a perfect Maine ski adventure.
